Client: City of Lauderhill

Project Description: Construction of two (2) buildings with a total of 350 rental apartments and 1,280 square feet of office space.

HSQ has the immediate capacity to address damage to the City’s infrastructure due to extreme weather events.  As an example, HSQ has the City of Lauderhill continuing services which had a 72” CMP collapse under NW 50thStreet during a major storm event.

The culvert needed to be removed and replaced with a larger pipe to accommodate the drainage in the area. twin 4’x6’ box culverts was designed to replace the damaged pipe due to other conflicts with utilities and limited space to work.  HSQ quickly modeled the area to determine the minimum pipe size needed and prepared an ICPR drainage design used to expedite the permitting thru the County for a drainage permit.  HSQ prepared the specifications and bid documents and assisted the city with public bidding and contractor selection.  HSQ continued to oversee the construction of the culvert to expedite the construction improvement so the road can be opened to the public.  HSQ also prepare a engineers report the city used to obtain grant money from FEMA to pay for the drainage improvements. This type of experience is needed during crisis times to protect the health and welfare of the public and return the city facilities back to working conditions.
